Before we went on winter break we went to visit our Bear Cub Buddies. (Our cub buddies are Miss. Conran's first grade class.) They have come to visit us many times but this was the first time we got to go to their classroom! They taught us how to make paper snowflakes. After we created our snowflakes we took turns reading stories to each other. It was a blast! Here are some pictures of us!
On Friday the kinders each had a chance to present their timelines to the class. I have to admit that this is one of my favorite events! It is so special to see the pride they take in sharing their milestones and the interest the other kinders have to learn about others. In previous weeks we learned about how animals grow and change. We looked at the life cycles of different animals and compared baby and adult animals. This project tied in how we grow and change throughout our lives.
As a class we brainstormed ideas of the different kinds of maps we could make. I think every other year has wanted to make a map of a town. This year the class surprised me by voting to make a map of our classroom. They are definitely experts on our classroom! The kinders worked together to make the map. We included all the important things (even the job chart!) and placed them appropriately on the map. Check out how awesome our map turned out!! Here we are making the map!
Today we learned all about adjectives. Adjectives are words that describe a noun. You can ask your kinder to tell you about adjectives. We watched the video below to review adjectives. (Maybe a flash back for some of you!) Today we visited the second graders' artifact museum. The kinders loved looking around at all of the different objects. One object in particular really stood out for them. Check out which object really mystified the kinders....
